Andrew Wright is Global Managing Director, Marine and Aviation at Amlin Plc, based in London and he brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.

After joining K.J. Coles, a syndicate of Murray Lawrence and Partners in 1989, Andrew rose through the underwriting ranks having started as an Energy and Bloodstock underwriting assistant. Andrew went onto become underwriter and leading class underwriter for Eenergy and Bloodstock.

After the merger of Murray Lawrence & Partners and Angerstein Underwriting Trust to form Amlin in 1999, Andrew continued to lead both the energy and bloodstock accounts until 2004 when he concentrated on the energy account, before taking on the dual capacity role of energy leading class underwriter and Head of Marine in London in 2009.

In 2011, Andrew became Head of Marine and Aviation London which saw him managing a team of more than 70 underwriters across 9 lines of business.

Following a company reorganisation in 2014, Andrew became Global Managing Director for Marine and Aviation where he now manages a team of 240 staff in offices in London, Rotterdam, Paris, Antwerp, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai
